Masters Programs in Florence
Fashion, Design, Communication, Multimedia, and more. Most post-graduate courses - like those at the Florence Design Academy or Polimoda - are organized by private schools. The education level is generally excellent. The University of Florence organizes post-graduate courses in many fields. Usually, quality is high and prices are lower than that of the masters programs in other cities. Professors are, in most cases, from the university, but courses are also held by professionals from all over Italy and around the world.
Another great post graduate course is the: Master in Comunicazione Strategica, offered by the Facoltà di Scienze Politiche.
With its headquarters in the Florentine Villa Favard, Polimoda started in 1986 as a joint project co-financed by the cities of Florence and Prato, along with entreprenurial associations and the collaboration of the Fashion Institute of Tecnhology, State University of New York.
Mr. Ferruccio Ferragamo, president of the same company, was appointed President of Polimoda in March 2006.
The project of development and implementation of Polimoda has been assigned from January 2007 to a new Director, Linda Loppa. Mrs. Loppa, a world renowned name in the fashion field, has been working on reassessing the image of the Institute, thanks to her solid, professional background and projectual as well as creative skills, aimed at improving quality, research and creativity.
More than 1300 students, 65% of whom from abroad, and 83% already employed 6 months after completion of studies: these are the numbers of the Institute, confirming the success of a didactic formula allowing students to become qualified for all work profiles required by the fashion field, thanks to a team of professors with long term-experience in the fashion industry.
In addition to the work profiles needed in the design and creation field, Polimoda also provides students with communication-oriented education, as well as marketing and industry management qualifications. Polimoda is the most qualified institute for a complete fashion education.
The distinguishing feature of Polimoda lies in its continuous collaboration with the fashion industry, enabling the school to set a plan of studies aimed at training students for professional positions of all kinds, in order to access the fashion industry right after gradution. After the completion of studies, students will then be employed by world renowned fashion brands, such as: Ferragamo, Gucci, La Perla, La Rinascente, Patrizia Pepe, Tod’s, etc.
