Harry's Bar: A Florentine Icon [by Susan D'Inverno - New York]

After a long day of lectures, sight seeing, and dodging Harry's Bar :: A Florentine Iconmotorini there is no place to indulge yourself quite like Harry's Bar, a point of tranquil bliss in what can seem an overly stimulating Florence.

Harry's Bar :: A Florentine IconIt's sophisticated and worldly clientele have been coming to this posh restaurant bar for over fifty years, since it opened its doors to Florence in 1953.

Modeled after the cosmopolitan chic American bar style, Harry's was created with high level clientele in mind, and this fundamental vision has remained unchanged for over half a century.

Once you enter the set of double doors leading into the restaurant, it seems as though you are stepping into your own private club, minus the initiation fee of course.
