 After completing a month of Italian classes at the Centro Linguistico Italiano Dante Alighieri, I immediately began my first internship at DotFlorence. As a rising junior at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington as well as a marketing major, I was in desperate need of job/internship which would significantly improve my resume. So when offered this internship at a web marketing company in Florence, I would have been crazy to pass up such a perfect opportunity! For the past month I have been working on a number of beneficial tasks. Some of my work has included writing articles (such as this one) about my experience as a student/intern in Florence, research on the internet, writing marketing letters to companies, and helping to design a t-shirt which will help to indirectly market the company to the public.

While completing my tasks, I learned useful information about link popularity, incoming agencies, as well as how to use the internet as a powerful marketing tool. This internship has shown me a different side of the business world as well as opened my mind to the fashion world. Choosing to study, live, and work in Florence for the summer has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

Not only will I return to the United States with an enhanced resume and practical work experience, but I will return with a new understanding of the Italian people, the culture, and of myself. I would like to thank my parents who have given me this unique opportunity in travelling to Italy especially during a time when the world has become so unsafe. Without their unyielding love and support, I would have never had the strength or courage to turn my dream into a reality.
