- What is the average price for a cab/taxi (per km)??? Does the price change after a certain hour???
The price for a taxi in Florence is definetely not cheap: 0,78Euro/km day and night. If you call the taxi by phone you have to pay €1,6 more. The starting price during the day is €2,5, during the night it becomes Euro 5,1 while in the 'festivitΰ' (no working day) it is Euro 4.
We suggest you to use the bus (timetables: www.ataf.net), or to buy (or rent) a bycicle...Also visit our forum to see if somebody is selling second hands bycicles or scooters..: www.studentsville.it/forum/forums/default

- How can I avoid the crowd in front of the Uffizi or in front of the other Florentine museums (Accademia, Palatina, Archeological, etc..)?

You're right, the best way to visit Tuscany is by car! By train you can reach all the main cities of the region, but if you want to visit the magnificent countryside (Chianti, Casentino, Maremma, Garfagnana, etc.) you absolutely need a car! - Hi people, I'm a muslim student from Malaysia. Is there any mosque in Florence?
In Florence there are two mosques. One is in Piazza dei Ciompi (historical center). The other is changing seat (it is moving to Via del Pignone - Southern part of Florence) but it's not completed yet. For further infos about muslim community we suggest you to go directly to the mosque in Piazza dei Ciompi.

- Where do I have to go if I loose my passport?
If you loose your passport you should go immediately at the Questura di Firenze . In the section 'emergency' we've listed all the addresses you need.

- Where can I find an updated list of the city events?

- From what time can I eat in a restaurant (either lunch or dinner)??
In Florentine (italian) restaurants you can have lunch from 12 to 15. Dinner from 19,30 to midnight..Italians usually start the lunch at 1-1,30pm and start the dinner at 8,30-9,30pm.

- Is it a common thing to leave tips on the table or not?
It's a well accepted practice, but among italians this practice is not really widespred because tip is usually included in the bill (around 10% of the total amount)

- Where can I find a pharmacy opened 24/7 (24 hours a day)?

In Florence there is a beautiful Synagogue located in the historical center of the city, in the Sant'Ambrogio district.
