Residence permit (Permesso di soggiorno)

Within 8 days from your arrival in Florence, you have to declare your presence to the Questura.

You should bring the following documents:
- Mod. 209 available from the Socrates/Erasmus office in your Faculty;
- Three passport photographs;
- A photocopy of your passport (and your passport too of course). If you are not a EU citizen you should have a visa released in your country for study purposes;
- An official document showing that you are receiving a grant from the Socrates/Erasmus programme;
- A copy of the student mobility proposal signed by you Socrates/Erasmus coordinator.

Fiscal code (Codice Fiscale)

The so called fiscal code, it's a document needed for the tax register. If you are a Socrates/Erasmus student, or a foreign student who wants to work in Italy, you have to get it.
