10 Things you can't miss in Florence

By Marco De La Pierre

Music Festivals, folkloristic events, vespa rides, spas, Dolce Vita, Ice creams, museums, wineries, beaches and mountains.
10 things that you - definitely! - can't miss in Florence and in Tuscany...

10 Things you can’t miss during your study experience in Florence….:

1) "Climb" on the top of the Duomo in a sunny day. The view is unforgettable.

2) Eat a Gelato (Ice cream) in Santa Croce in a spring or a summer day. The best gelaterie of the district (and perhaps of the city) are Vivoli (Via Isola delle Stinche, 7) and Vestri (Borgo degli Albizi,11). Don’t miss this experience!

3) A ride in Vespa (or scooter) toward Piazzale Michelangelo or Fiesole in a warm spring day. You’ll really experience the freedom and the joy of the Dolce Vita

4) A visit at Galleria dell’Accademia (Via Ricasoli, 58) where is exposed the originall David of Michelangelo. To follow the process that from the marble (“i prigioni”) brings to a masterpiece is really a great experience...

5) A glass of Tuscan wine in a autumn/winter day in one of the typical Florentine wineries. We suggest you to spend some hour at Enoteca Boccadama (Piazza Santa Croce), Antica Mescita (Via San Niccolò, 60), Enoteca Fuoriporta (Via Monte alle Croci) or at La Sosta del Rossellino (Settignano)

6) The music festivals held in Spring and Summer time in Tuscany and Umbria: Pistoia Blues, Arezzo Wave, UmbriaJazz, Maggio Musicale (Florence), Mercantia (Certaldo), ....The coolest side of Florence and Tuscany that you can’t miss!

7) The fireworks of the 24th of June (San Giovanni) seen from a terrace or from a boat in the river Arno...

8) A tour to one of the Tuscan beautiful spas: Saturnia, Venturina, Calidario, Bagno Vignoni, Montecatini, Rapolano Terme, etc, etc…

9) A ski-day at Abetone, a week-end on the beach in the wonderful Maremma’s Parco dell’Uccellina (Southern Tuscany), a wine tour in Chianti, a medieval tour of Tuscany...

10) A soccer match in Spring/summer time at Le Cascine Park or a Fiorentina www.fiorentina.it Serie A match at "Stadio Franchi"...
